The Portage North Middle School Bands

The Portage North Middle School Band has a long tradition of high levels of performance.  The emphasis is placed on the development of individual technique, ensemble skills, and independant musicallity.  After working in the MS Band program, students are well prepared to perform in a high school ensmeble setting.

We currenly have over 150 students participating in the Middle School bands in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  The bands perform through-out the year at various contests and and the Michigan Wind and Percussion Festival.  Students have the opportunity to perform in the District Middle School Jazz/Rock Ensemble, Solo and Ensemble, and in various small groups.
