Frequently Asked Questions – Marching Band
Is Marching Band Required?
NO! Marching Band is an optional program designed to allow students to participate who may not otherwise be able to!
Does Marching Band Cost money, and if so, how much?
Yes. In order to provide the best possible experiences, we need to offset costs with fundraising and fees. Please see the Fee Structure on the website for the details as to what the cost will be for you! Please understand
How do I sign up?
You can register for the Marching Band at www.pnbands.org. This needs to be done by June 1st as well as have your first payment of $35 in to band boosters!
What kind of time commitment is it?
Over the summer you will have Band Camp. This is the first week of August and runs from 8am till 9pm everyday. We will have a few rehearsals after that as “brush up” rehearsals. Once schools starts you will have rehearsals every Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-9p. You are also required to be at all home football games as well as our Saturday competitions. Our competitions are usually the 4 Saturdays of October. Check the calendar on the website for up to the minute times, dates, etc.
Can I do Sports, Musical, Scouts, Etc and Marching Band?
YES! It will not be easy, but we will find a way to make things work. Please speak to Mr. Bartz and Mr. Jordan before registering about any major potential conflicts. We want every student who wants to be in Marching Band to have that opportunity.
Do we fund raise?
YES! Even with our fees, our booster organization annually fundraises between $15,000 and $20,000! Please be ready and willing to do your share to help us provide these wonderful opportunities for students!
